Of course the conversation went a little like this: "Happy Birthday! Here is your card. Hurry up and read it so I can take a picture of it. I need to get it uploaded." Okay it wasn't quite like that but almost! He loves me! So it is okay. He even helped me set up for the picture. He has class on Monday nights so we didn't really even celebrate yet. We will do that this weekend. He will have to share his special day with our very soon to be three year old son.
Recipe:
Card base: SU Certainly Celery 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 (folded)
Card front: SU Chocolate Chip 4 X 5 1/4
Card front layer: DP 3 3/4 X 5 sponged with Chocolate Chip
All the designer paper I used on this card I had setting out. I had picked up from the FREE table at a monthly crop that I go to. I have NO idea what kind of paper it is. It was from obviously from a coordinating set and I just fell in love with it thinking WHO would give this away! CRAZY!!!
The strip layers are layered on top of Chocolate Chip. One in the DP and the other in Certainly Celery stamped with Stampin Up Starstruck Stamp Set in Yep, you guessed it - Chocolate Chip!
I used nestibilities in Chocolate Chip and DP for the large circle then added a little with the dots in a white Gel pen. Not sure if you can see in the picture but I used my Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Distressed Stripes in the DP circle to give it a little dimension.
I used my Marvy pink (mega ?) punch for the smaller circle in Certainly Celery. The stamps are Denami Design in Chocolate Chip.
The stars were done with SU smaller star punch and Fiskar's larger star punch. I thought the larger star needed something and went old school and pulled out and dusted off my original Stars Sizzix Die.
AND eyelets AGAIN!!!! I am down three more eyelets. ONLY 1,846,246 to go! Just kidding! I haven't actually counted!
Thanks so much for looking! What do you think?
I love your card colors and use of stars. A wonderful interp of the sketch...
