Trip to CK Convention

Yesterday, a friend and I went to Phoenix area to attend the CK (Creating Keepsakes) Craft Convention. It was a lot of fun. I spent way to much money and am sore today from walking around and hauling my almost 10 month old around. I forgot the stroller, not that she would have stayed in it anyway. FYI, she was pretty good, considering what we put her through.

While there, we kept running into these fabulous older ladies that seemed to be our future selves. One being a lot like me and the other like my friend. After we had run into them about three times, visiting, laughing, and talking about our similarities I asked them what their names were. WELL, they were Lisa and Karen! You might not find that very interesting; however, I haven't mentioned that my friend's name is Carrie. So, we were Laurie and Carrie and Lisa and Karen and yes, I was like Lisa and she like Karen. It was so funny! I love how small the world can seem. I hope we run into them again.

Here are some of pictures of all my loot!
I found some really neat stuff at Technique Tuesday's booth. I had never heard of them before. They have some really cute stamp sets and scrapbooking kits that come with stamps, inks, paper, chipboards, rub ons. Their prices seemed reasonable, too. I wish I could have bought more there! We found acrylic die cuts that were on sale. And some JustRite fonts on sale too!

I got a kit that came with a glue pad, some stamps, glitter, felt, a punch that matched one of the stamps. I haven't even opened it, but it seemed like a good deal at the time!! Creating Keepsakes had a booth right outside the entryway. They had some super deals I couldn't pass up. A complete scrapbook and kit to complete it for only $11 and a vacation mini scrapbook kit for only $5. I kept waiting to hear the catch, like I had to sign up for something but no catch. I also got there a pack of 12 fold out books. These I plan to use as gifts. And no trip is complete without a few stickles!!!

Here is a picture of a canvas kit make & take I did at the Quick Quotes booth and then bought one to do at home. I also bought some of their paper packs - in the first picture somewhere! They had some really neat things and a monthly kit club that I am thinking about joining.
It was a great trip! Not quite CHA, but big enough for me - at least for now!
