My First Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge!

Okay, so it only took me 102 WEEKS to start making cards using the Mojo Monday Sketch challenges. But hey, better late than never. I really like this sketch and think the card turned out pretty cute.

Recipe:

Card Base - Stampin Up Not Quite Navy (4 1/4 X 5 1/2 folded)
Card Front - SU Pretty in Pink DP (4 X 5 1/4)
I stamped the main image in Basic Brown, colored it with PrimaPencils and blended with Gamsol (odorless Mineral Spirits)
I used my Oval Nestibilites and Scallops for main image layered in White, Pretty in Pink, Not Quite Navy, Really Rust. I don't think I ever make a card without using my nestibilities anymore!!
The sentiments were stamped in Not Quite Navy and layered with Pretty in Pink then Not Quite Navy.
The Not Quite Navy strip was embossing with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and swiped gently with SU Craft White ink.
The corner was done with SU Photo Corner Punch in Not Quite Navy and Really Rust.

I used eyelets for the embellishments on the edge. I haven't used eyelets in sooooo long, and I have so many!!! AHHHHH! Eyelets! I haven't used them in FOREVER and have sooooo many! I like the way I can see the NQN coming through. I might just have to start using Eyelets more again! Maybe I'll start an old trend????? Or rather bring it back???? Whatever!

Stamp sets: SU Retired Birthday Greetings and Crazy for Cupcakes

For finishing touches I used Stickles on the frosting of the cupcakes. I hope you can see the Sparking Yummy Frosting!

Thanks for looking & I hope you like it.
All Comments Welcome! (except mean ones! LOL!)

Exciting News for my blog!!!

I just ordered a new camera!!! WOOHOO!!! --------------->
The other day I was trying to make a video with my camera that I have which is great for taking pictures NOT so great at making videos. I really thought it would be better. I had my whole set up ready to go .... anyway, it just turned out not very clear. I am expecting my new toy on September 3rd. So, hopefully I can get the video done AGAIN shortly after that! This time clear enough to share. The video will be a tutorial using the Cricut Expression with the Design Studio and a few tips that I have learned along the way. Most the time I learned the hard way!!! I hope it will save someone some time.

Scrapbooking - Standing Up or Sitting Down?

How do you scrapbook?

Okay, I was at a monthly crop last night that I attend (not every month). Anyway, I was really trying to get some things accomplished and was really concentrating when suddenly it dawned on me that I was standing up. I looked around the room at about 125 women or so, and EVERYONE ELSE WAS SITTING!! Is something wrong with me? For the life of me AND MY PAGES I had to keep standing up every now and again to either get a feel for what was needed or to adhere somethings straight. So my question is, first, am I just weird or what? Really, please don't answer that. The people I live with (teenagers) keep me well informed of the answer to that question. My real question I guess is: How do you scrapbook, standing up or sitting down?
I was there from about 7 - 11 which is the longest I have left the baby. She was really good for her daddy! I got two full layouts down (4 pages) except for the titles. I want to get to my Cricut and SCAL for that. I hope to get that done later today or maybe tomorrow and post the pictures of them.
UPDATE: We have now progessed in our potty training to wearing underware. YEAH!!!! The youngest has had only one accident, PEE PEE, thank goodness! And I think that was b/c he couldn't get his pants down quick enough.

Scratch and Sniff Technique Card

Strawberry Fields Forever

I made this card using the Scratch 'n Sniff technique. Tutorial found HERE on SCS. I really had a lot of fun with this technique and my card smells soooo yummy! It's amazing how it worked. I will definitely be doing this again! I did it a little different than the tutorial as my image isn't solid. I stamped my strawberry in Basic Gray, colored it with Primascolored Pencils, went over it with a Versa marker then embossed it with my Kool Aid & clear embossing powder mixture. The images are made using Stampin UP In the Garden (2000 set) stamped in Basic Gray, colored with Primas Pencils then blended with Mineral Spirits. I used Spellbinders nestabilities for the circles and decided to off set the scallops for a different look. I used the Stampin UP retired Key Tag punch for the sentiment (SU Warm Words). I punched out around sentiment on white, one in Real Red, one in Pacific Point, and Old Olive. Then each time a adhered a layer I trimmed it down a little. I really like the way the tag turned out. Any questions, comments, or advice? Please leave it in the comments.

Thanks for looking. Wish you could smell it too!

It's Official I'm a BLOGGER!!!

HOWEVER! I probably couldn't have picked a worse time to decide to start a blog.

I am in the process of potty training my two youngest sons, Irish twins, almost 11 months apart. The oldest, 3 1/2, should probably already be trained but oh well!!! It has been going good with the last two days being accident free. YIPPEE!! Of course, I have discovered the best and easiest way is to just let them run around NAKED, indoors only of course!

AND I am still nursing my youngest who is eight months old, loves her Daddy but is a Mommy's girl!

AND I am homeschooling my very sassy and independent 5 year old!

What was I thinking?!?

Plus, I have two extremely active teenagers that keep me running.

I haven't even taken the chance to fill in my profile yet.

Hopefully I will get more updated within the next few days.
I have so many ideas for my new blog and can't wait to share them ALL
(well some of them anyway!)
