Happy Halloween & Blog Candy!!!

Getting my week started with a MojoMonday sketch challenge!  I really should be making Christmas cards but I have some fun things to giveaway that are Halloween and thought it would be more fitting.  Plus, Halloween is before Christmas.  I just don't send out as many Halloween cards as I do Christmas.

Anyway! Here's what I came up with:

Pumpkin was cut at 2 1/2" from Simply Charmed Cart.

Recipe:
Card Base: SU Only Orange 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" (folded)
Card front: Black 4" X 5"
Other Cardstock / Paper:  SU Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, Apricot Appeal, DP from DCWV Fall StackInk: PTI (Papertrey Ink) True Black
Stamps:  SU Bitty Boos, PTI Spooky Sweets II
Accessories:  Cuttlebug & Boo to You Embossing folder, Cricut & Simply Charmed Cartridge, Black Ribbon, SU Oval Punches, Tag Punch, PTI Zig Zag die

Here's the giveaway!  All you have to do is leave a comment on this post saying what you love about Halloween!  Please, also consider becoming a follower of my blog because when I reach 150 followers I'm celebrating by giving more goodies away!

Two Cuttlebug Embossing Folders:  Boo to You (I used this one on today's card) and Skeleton Scroll

I will pick the winner on Friday!
Sorry, but at this time I can only ship to US and Canada.

Thanks so much for visiting me while I am
Hiding in My Craft Room!

Have a great crafting day!

  1. Aw, just look at that sweet pumpkin! Love it. I also love the black with those stripes showing through on the bottom. Nice job, Laurie!

What I love about Halloween is trick-or-treating with my kids. I wasn't allowed to when I was growing up, so it's all new to me!

  3. Oh I'm sorry, I forgot to add what I love about Halloween, it makes me remember when we (siblings) would go to each grandparents & aunt/uncles house to show them our costumes, makes me miss the ones that have passed but excited to pass on tradition to my girls!

  6. Your card is super cute!

I'm already a follower and the thing that I love most about Halloween is planning the classroom parties at school for my boys.

  7. I grew up in a small town so we could go all over for the "good" treats. And we could set out a bowl of candy and it wouldn't be totally empty when we got back. Those were the good old days.

  8. Great card and thanks for an opportunity to play along. Halloween is my husband's favorite time of year and I too enjoy it as it relates to the "cutesy" side. I enjoy creating cute little cards and watching the children roam the neighborhood dressed up in their costumes.

  11. Hey, Laurie! This is a wonderful card and I just love those folders! What an awesome give-away! I used to despise Halloween, but now that I have a kid of my own, I love watching him get excited. It's the best part of the Halloween festivities! Thanks for the chance to win some fabulous goodies!

  12. I love the embossed black background. My favorite part of Halloween is seeing my children have fun with friends and family on that night. This year they get to go to a party with the grandmother and trick-or-treat with aunts and cousins. It is a fun and cheerful holiday.

  13. Love your work!

What I love about Halloween is pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins, indian corn and mums all making the porch look so festive.

  14. Great card, love how it's all tied together. Cute pumpkin too! Halloween is another excuse to get together with friends or family and enjoy each others company. We have been going camping with a friend's family at Gettysburg KOA where they have a halloween themed weekend. The kids have a ball going through their haunted trail, everyone decorates their cabins and tent sites where one is selected as winner. Dressing up trick or treating through the camp ground is cool too.

  19. Very spooky pumpkin, but sooooooo cute. I like Halloween most because all of the fall colors up North, the crispness of the weather, and the very cute kids that come a knocking at our door. I will be visiting my grandkids in Chicago area during Halloween and love to see all the little costumes. Dianne

  25. Super cute Halloween card, I love seeing the cards you create using your Cricut. Halloween is a great time of year for me and my family. I especially love seeing my kids dressed up in their costumes. This year my baby is going to be Dorothy (from the Wizard of Oz and my son is going to be a fire fighter- for the second year in a row...LOL)

  26. Very cute card! What I love about Halloween is the bite sized packages of candy. Come to think of it, that's also what I hate about Halloween-it's so easy to eat the candy because it's so small!

  49. Hi Laurie,

The best part about Halloween has to be the Chocolate!!! But then after you have the pictures developed it's all about the happiness of the kids being all dressed up.
    Bye 4 now. Laura

  51. Hi Laurie. I love your card, but have more of a technical question. I just bought a cricut expression and am picking up on things quickly (or so I thought). I tried to print the pumpkin with the leaves and the curly vine, but I have no idea how to print the leaves and vine...I don't see it on the layer chart? Please help, it is driving me crazy! I thought maybe it was part of another picture set on the same cartridge...I found a curly thing but it looks different and I don't see the same leaf anywhere. HELP!

    Thanks....

  52. Barbara, I wasn't sure how to get in touch with you. So I hope you get this here. For the Pumpkin (p. 60 Simply Charmed Cart) cut it in Green; the leaf is in that cut. Then cut layer 1 in Black, then layer 2 in Orange, then layer 3 (cheeks) in pink?, then layer 4 (side accents) in a different shade of orange or yellow. All these will be with the shift on. I hope that helps!
