To Bling or Not to Bling? - Mojo Monday

Thank goodness we have more than just a day to participate in MojoMonday Sketch Challenge.   This is contest week so head on over and give it a try!  You never know you might WIN!!

Also, I found a fun challenge over on Cricut Cardz Challenge!  They post a new challenge every Wednesday "for those who love to make cards with their cricut"!  That's ME!!!   This week's challenge is to make a Christmas card using a cut starting with the letter "S".  Although my stockings are not a cricut cut my SCALLOPED rectangle is!  WOOHOO!

Back to Christmas cards!  YEAH!!!    I couldn't decide if I wanted to bling out the top of my stockings or not, but ended up not.  Can you believe it?  What do you think?  Did I make the right choice?  I can always go back and add it!!  These were pretty quick and easy and I might have to make more, like 10-12.

Here is what I came up.

The scallop rectangle was cut using my Gypsy and Winter Woodland Cartridge.
I set the size (REAL DIAL) to 4.75" X 3.25".   I know the scallops are stretched, and I probably could have found a better scalloped rectable but I kindof like it.

Recipe:
Card Base: SU  Garden Green 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" (folded)
Card front:  Cherry Cobbler 4" X 5 1/4"
Other Cardstock / Paper:  White
Ink: Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler
Stamps:  SU Teeny Tiny Wishes, All in a Row, PTI Stocking Prints
Accessories:  Cuttlebug & Checkerboard Embossing Folder, PTI Stocking die, dimensionals (of course),  Cricut & Winter Woodland Cartridge, SU Word Window Punch, Fancy Pants All Fall Ribbon (I got a really good deal on a BIG spool of this so you will probably see more of it!!)

Thanks so much for visiting me while I am
Hiding in My Craft Room!

Have a great crafting day!

  8. Great stockings. I think you really can't go wrong either way, but sometimes it's nice to just play it simple. Whatever you think is best though!

  15. Very cute! I always have the same debate with myself. I think they look cute like this but, then again, a little bling never hurts. :)

  17. Great holiday card! Love that checkerboard folder and those cute stockings. I almost always go for the bling, if it's an option, haha! I need to learn how to go without occasionally! :)

  20. Isn't Cherry Cobbler just perfect for Christmas!??! I'm always for adding bling when I'm making a 'one of a kind' card. When mass producing, I always tend to go the easy route and hoard my stash!
