Thank You Card - Animal Kingdom Cartridge - Video #9

Here is a Thank You card using the Cricut Animal Kingdom cartridge that I made for my dad.  While we were back home visiting he really planned a lot of activites for us:  four-wheel riding, fishing, going to the park, a cook-out.  You can see a few pictures of our trip HERE.  He took off work the entire week, and I hope he knows how much we appreciate him.  FYI, my mom will get a card too!  She did a lot of work too.  She cooked A LOT!!!  I gained 5 pounds!  Maybe I won't be thanking HER!!!  JK!!

Cards for Troops

I had a service project craft night at my house about six weeks ago and I am embarrassed to say that I am just now getting them sent off.  In my defense my husband just got home from over seas (not supposed to say where), he was home from work for a while (during which I got NOTHING done), then it was spring break and we went out of town.  So I just haven't had time. 

We had a lot of fun and made 52 cards.  I plan on having another one soon.  Oh, I also wanted to mention that we mostly used only scraps that I had been saving:  scraps, die cuts, and already stamped images from playing around.  It was great to reduce my stash and see it go to such a worthy cause.  I want to give a shout out for the lady that I am sending the cards to.  She gets cards from all over the place and lovingly finds troops to send them to.  Her name is Amber, and she has a website where she sells envelopes in different sizes and styles for very reasonable prices so that she can afford to send all these donated cards off.  You can get more information including her contact information here:  Clear Envelopes

Happy Anniversary Card

Getting back to life!!  Still have some laundry to do but it can wait!

I made this card for my husband for our anniversary.  This is also my MojoMonday sketch 131 challenge submission.

It is so wonderful to be married to such a great man.  He is truly a blessing to have in my life: a loving husband and father, a willing helper, a great provider, a fantastic supporter, my best friend. 

Recipe:

Card Base: PTI Spring Rain 4" X 9 1/4" (folded)  This size fits in a #10 (a regular business envelope)  I really have fun making this size and there is a lot of room on the inside to poor out your heart and soul! 
Card front: DCWV The Garden Party Stack 3 3/4 X 9  I just adhered the DP on SU Taken with Teal then trimmed so it was just a very thin border. Maybe 1/8".
Other Cardstock / Paper: SU Taken with Teal, Chocolate Chip, PTI Spring Rain, & Ivory

Ink: SU Chocolate Chip

Stamps: PTI (Papertrey Ink): Dot Spot & Mega Mixed Messages; Verve: Just For You

Family Update - Spring Break Vacation

Spring Break is over and can I just say I am exhausted!  BUT so worth it! 

 We had such a great time going back home and visiting family and friends.  I just wish we would have had more time.  Too many people we just didn't get to see enough of or get to see at all!

All of us at Chuck E Cheese!  My parents! My brother, his baby, my aunt and her grandkids (oops we are missing one!)  My Grandma too!  Probably will be one of the only if not the only time my Grandma will have all her grand and great grandkids all at the same place!  Of course not all of us wanted to have our picture taken!  Notice the back of a head and a crying face!  Oh well, those odds are pretty good!

Lights OUT!!  My 5 year old got to "pend" the night

at Grandma's and Grandpa's and a terrible storm hit!

On the 'Bright' side she did get to wear cool head gear!

We had a great day!  Grandpa took us to Deer Camp.  One of the activites - 4 wheeler riding!

Someone did NOT want to get off!!!

Just a few of the many pictures that were taken!  We had so much fun!  My kids especially the little boys will be talking about it for months and months!

Now we are home and must get back to taking care of things which means I need to do some crafting!  Everything else can wait:  the house, the laundry, the dishes, and do I have to feed the kids! LOL!!

Mojo Mondays Make Me Smile : )

Finally I make a Mojo Monday Sketch card on MONDAY!!!!  My schedule has been so crazy the past few months with my husband gone.  Now he is home with a couple weeks off and my schedule is even CRAZIER!!!  I had to just go HIDE in my craft room and SHUT the door.  Here is what I came up with while Hiding in My Craft Room (heehee) from my family:

Recipe:
Card Base: SU Marigold Morning 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" (folded) Why do I still have so much of this color?  I mean, I like it but REALLY!

Card front: Close to Cocoa 4 X 5 1/4

Card Layer:  Close to Cocoa DP 3 3/4" X 5"

Other Cardstock / Paper:  More of the same!

Ink: SU Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip

Stamps:  Verve Stamp Sets -  Thoughtful Florals, Beautiful You, Just for You

Accessories: Spellbinders Nestibilities Circles, SU Window Punch, SU ribbon - Flirty, Crystal Effects

I stamped the flower image with Chocolate Chip on Close to Cocoa DP and white.  Then cut them out.  For the top layer I used Marigold Morning Reinker and mixed it with Iridescent Medium, using a paint brush to color giving it a nice shimmery look.  I couldn't get a picture to do it justice.  The center is done with a glob of Crystal Effects.
