I'm very frustrated! I haven't had internet access all day today. I'm typing this from my phone so I don't even know how or if it is going to work. I have some things to share but it will have to wait until I get my internet up again.

merry Christmas - Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge

First, a little update!  My OB appointment yesterday went great.  I'm not diabetic or anemic, fortunately I've never had problems before either.  I've had friends who have and it does not seem fun.  The lady who took my blood and ran the test said I was perfect!  I just laughed and said, "My husband probably won't agree with you!"  Now since I am 40 (advanced maternal age!  cute, huh?) I have to have a stress test done twice a week which is really going to throw a kink in my schedule! 

Now for the fun stuff!

We have a new challenge up over on Papertrey Paper Dolls.  Thank you Jen!  Great challenge.  This time it is a sketch challenge. 

When I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to use the snowflake stamp in the circle from PTI 2008 Holiday Tag Collection and knew I wanted to use a snowflake background paper.  Here I must admit AGAIN that I have a paper addiction and just knew in all my collection of paper I would have some snowflake paper.  Guess what?  I don't!  So I improvised and made my own.  I'm really please with the way it turned out.

I used my Cricut for the circle layers with Winter Woodland cartridge, however, any circle punches, spellbinders, die cuts, ect.  would work. 

Here is what I came up with.  I hope you like it!  Oh, and did I mention I went ahead and made two!  Yeah, two more Christmas cards down! 

 Circle layers were cut with Real Dial Size ON at 1 3/4", 2", 2 1/4", 2 1/2". 

Recipe:

Card Base: SU  Blue Bayou 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" (folded)  I'm excited to be using up more of my retired Stampin Up cardstock!!  It seems to be multiplying!!

Card front: SU Blue Sky  4" X 5 1/4"   

Other Cardstock / Paper:  SU DP from Sweet Slumber, Bravo Burgundy, white

Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Blue Bayou

Happy Hanukkah - Joys of the Season

It's Blog Hop time over on Papertrey Ink!

Here's the challenge again:

There is always a lot of focus on Christmas in our industry this time of year, as that is what the majority of the population celebrates. However, this month's blog hop is dedicated to those that celebrate winter holidays other than Christmas. Create a project that celebrates Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or some other winter holiday as we embrace everyone's beliefs in a celebration of diversity through paper crafting.

This was a great challenge!  But I found out that I am not very cultured and know very little about Hanakkah.  Thank goodness for my Cricut and cartridges!  I think I can celebrate any holiday!  However, I did have to write in the Hanakkah part of the sentiment because I just realized I don't have any Hanakkah stamps.  That will have to change!!  You never know when you will need one for a Jewish friend.

Just a Little Update

It is official as of yesterday!  I no longer have two four year olds.  : ( 
My Irish twins are now four years old and five years old!

Goodies for Cub Scouts and Blog Candy for YOU!!!

Yesterday was so super busy!  Ok, not really busy exactly I just had a sick, whiny 22 month year old that I had to hold practically ALL day long.  I did at least get these little treat bags finished for my Cub Scout boys.  I wanted to make little 3-D coffins from Happy Hauntings cartridge but I just didn't have time.  That's what I get for not working more on these earlier.  Oh well candy is candy, right? 

The Ghosts were cut at 1 1/2" with Real Dial size ON.

The bats were cut at 2 1/2" with Real Dial Size ON.

Both from Happy Hauntings Cartridge.

I used Stampin Up Curly Label Punch for Frankenstein

and his hair and Spiral Punch for his "bolts". 
He is on a little box of Nerds!  Ironic!
We made this in Stamp Club last month, and they were just too fun!

Happy Birthday Card - I CASED MYSELF!!!

My brother's birthday is coming up SOON and I actually have to get this in the mail TODAY!  So I decided to cut a few corners and CASE myself.  In Arkansas where I am from and where most my family still lives there hasn't hardly been any rain lately and deer season is rumored to possibly be canceled due to the dryness.  The HORROR!!  I think my dad and brother will need therapy if that happens!  Anyway, I figured for his birthday I would give him a big buck just in case he doesn't get to hunt for one.  I really doubt they will cancel it but still it is something I can rib him about. 

I have been asked what I put inside my cards.  I usually (almost always) leave them blank as far as sentiments or stamping.  I use that space to write a letter!  A lost art!

Joy to the World - Simply Charmed Cartridge

When I saw this week's color challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers:  Pirouette Red Pizzazz I knew I had to make it a Christmas card, even with the Pink.  Besides I have to get  cracking and whip more out, right Mary? LOL!!    I have a few different friends that I think would love a little pink in their Christmas card.  Now just to decide which one! Or make more with pink!

MERRY Christmas - Mojo Style

What a great way to get my week started!  One, with a little Mojo Monday Sketch challenge and two, getting another Christmas card done, in fact I made two!  It takes about the same amount of time to make two as it does one.  WOOHOO!  I'm on a roll!  Let's see, about 10 down and only 90 to go!  I think I just burst my own bubble!  LOL!!! 

Here's what I came up with.  I kept it pretty simple.  I hope you like it!

Frame was cut at 3".  Then I cut off edge of frame to use for a border and complete the sketch.

Never more than a Thought Away

I made this card for this weeks Splitcoast Color Challenge:  Razzleberry Saffron Tangerines.  I really like the way these colors look together.  But I finally had to leave well enough alone!  It seems like it is missing something, but after fiddling with it for a bit I decided to just call it good.

Accessories:  SU ribbon "Fairy Tale",  SU Eyelet border punch,  SU markers:  Wild Wasabi & Melon Mambo, Prisma Pencil, Stickles: Diamond, Cricut & Live Simple Cartridge, Cuttlebug & Swiss Dots embossing folder

Family Update - What have I been up to?

We had such a wonderful extended weekend!  We went to Salt Lake City and Provo area to see family and my daughter who recently left for college at BYU in Provo and my unofficially adopted son from my first marriage who I love like he was my own and claim as mine.  So I really have seven with number eight on the way!  He is attending Utah Valley University.  We spent a day in Provo seeing the kids' dorms, having a picnic in a beautiful park (man, I miss trees), and then we went to a waterfall where my kids would have stayed forever climbing the rocks and playing in the cold water.  

 

As if it couldn't get any better, we spent the next couple days watching our church's biannual General Conference. It was so wonderful to be listening to inspirational talks and having family all around.  We are hoping, if I am still up for making the trip, to go back for Thanksgiving.  We will have to wait and see though.  I will be 36 weeks pregnant at that time! 

Now we are home and I have some crafty things planned for this week.  That is if I get all the suitcases unpacked!  LOL!!
