Welcome to the Paper Dolls' First Blog Hop! We are so glad you are joining us today and hope that you will hop along with us as we get to know each other better. Perhaps you can even play along with our challenge! If your following along with the hop you should have come from Katie's blog! If not, that's alright I've included a list below to help get you on track!
The theme for this blog hop is:
P T I
We decided to pay tribute to the reason why we are all here in the first place - a love for Papertrey Ink. Each creation you see along the hop this week will have something that starts with a P, something that starts with a T and something that starts with an I on it.
In addition to viewing wonderful and varied creations, you will be able to read a little bit more about each member of this blog group and get to know all the girls better.
Just for hopping along and leaving comments on our Blog Hop posts, we are offering up a prize! One randomly selected winner from all the comments left on the Dolls' posts will receive the wonderful stamp set, "Made of Snow,".

Several of our members post daily, so make sure you scroll through the Dolls' blogs for the post with the Blog Hop banner pictured. That's the post on which you should leave a comment to be entered in the drawing.
We'd also love for you to play along with us and link up your creations using the InLinkz tool on the Dolls' blog: here! Linking up one of your creations following our theme will get you in a drawing for a $25.00 gift certificate to PTI! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
All comments and projects should be in by midnight on Sunday, March 13th. We'll randomly select the winner for both prizes on Monday, March 14th and announce it on the Dolls' Blog!
Below is a list of the Papertrey Ink Paper Dolls and their blogs. Grab something to drink, something to snack on and enjoy. We are glad you are here. (The names in parentheses are our PTI forum names.)

Here's what I came up with:
The P's: Plum Pudding & Pure Poppy cardstock, Plumeria, Perfectly Paisley embossing folder, Polka Dots stamp set
The T's: Two Tags, True Black Ink, Tiny Bubbles & Traffic Jam embossing folder, Through the Tree stamp set
The I's: Iridescent Medium, and Okay I cheated a little and came up with I-lets!!
Plumeria was cut from Life is a Beach cartridge at 2 1/2".
I painted it with Iridescent Medium to give it a shimmery effect which just can't be captured with a photo!
Recipe:
Card Base: PTI Pure Poppy 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" (folded)
Card front: Homemade DP 4" X 5 1/4"; Plum Pudding 4 1/8" X 5 3/8"
Other Cardstock / Paper: White
Ink: Perfect Plum, True Black, Real Red
Stamps: PTI Polka Dot Basics, Through the Trees (sentiment)
Accessories: Ribbon, Eyelets (I-lets), Iridescent Medium, Cricut & Tags, Bags, Boxes & More and Life is A Beach cartridges, Cuttlebug & Perfectly Paisley, Tiny Bubbles, and Traffic Jam embossing folders
Okay, we are suppose to share a little bit about ourselves as well! I know this post is getting scary long, but in keeping with the 'rules' I better share a little! What do you want to know? What do you not already know? Well, for those who don't know ......
I am a mother of actually 8 but one I say I got the easy way! He was adopted from my first marriage and from that marriage I had two that I had to birth or get the hard way! LOL!! They are 22, 19, and 14. I remarried and have 5 children with my husband that are 6, 5, 4, 2, and 2 1/2 months. I love to craft and really I do sometimes 'hide' in my craft room! I have to!!! I am origianlly from Arkansas. Yes, a southern girl! But my husband is in the military and so now we live in Arizona. I love it here!
Some of my hobbies are dancing (only at home), scrapbooking & card making (duh), and reading but here I cheat and really only do audio books anymore while I'm doing dishes, folding clothes, making cards (You get the idea!). I'm not sure I still know how to read! ha ha!! And when I say I've read a book my 14 year old annoying son reminds me that I didn't really read it!
I've been a Papertrey Paper Doll since the very beginning and feel like we have a great bunch of gals!!
I am so thankful for my blogging outlet and all the friends that I have made. I've become a little addicted to it and have some pretty big goals that I have set for myself, but my family will always come first. I'm so surprised and thankful for anyone who is STILL reading! LOL!!
Thanks so much for visiting me while I am
Hiding in My Craft Room!
Don't forget to leave a quick comment to get into the drawing!

Beautiful colors and love all the different embossing folders you used here, Laurie.
ReplyDeleteLaurie, I honestly don't know how you do it all! I am in awe of you, really and truly. Your card is great - I love the I-lets! LOL! I love that flower and how the polks dot background coordinates with the flower layer. And I love that sentiment!
ReplyDeleteFun card Laurie! I'm blown away that you have eight children. WOW! I love that you listed dancing (at home) as a hobby. Totally made me smile. Thanks for the blog award too. I was so flattered by what you said. I'm probably way more laid back than you because I only have two girls *wink*.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! This is so pretty. I have been trying to figure out why this card looks so 3D. Might be the sleep deprivation, but it looks so rich in depth to my old eyes, it's kinda cool. I love the colors and the textures too. Fab card!
ReplyDeleteI *love* your card!! So fun and love getting to know all the *dolls*...
ReplyDeleteYou do sound busy but under control :-) and it sounds like your family knows that crafting keeps you sane! (mine knows that about me, lol)
I'm so in heaven - these are my favorite colors together!! They were my wedding colors, and I LOVE the way you put them together with all that eye candy in this card! What an amazing, busy momma you are!!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors and embossing on the pretty card!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Laurie! Love the bold colors. I'm so glad when you incorporate Cricut die-cuts with your cards. It inspires me to use my Cricut more. It's been fun reading about you. You are blessed to have such a beautiful family. Thanks for being such a sweet person. I've really enjoyed being in this group with you.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm going to pay that award forward after the Blog Hop. I can't wait!
Cute card.

ReplyDeleteGreat color combo. Love your card.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you have time to stamp or even listen to audio books ~ great time for yourself! Love the polka dots and dry embossing included in this great birthday card. I'lets made me laugh (you could add Ink to the I's).
ReplyDeleteLaurie, I have really enjoyed being a "doll" with you this past year and every time I visit your blog I am amazed that you even have time for stamping! Your card has a wonderful layout and love the pop of Pure Poppy! I love to read as well but have never tried audio books....maybe I can get more done if I did that! LOL Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to send a separate note here to thank you for the sweet blog award! YOU, my dear, are an amazing person!
ReplyDeleteVery fun to get to know you better!! And a beautiful card to share...thanks!!

ReplyDeleteWow you win the mother of the year award! I don't know when you have time to scrap. I know I would be sleeping anytime I had a few minutes with that kind of schedule. Love your card and color combo. You are someone I admire. Thank you for sharing with us and letting us know a little about you.
