HIMCR #21 - Sheet Protector Technique

Happy Saturday!!

I'm getting the challenge up a little late today.  The challenge this week, the 3rd week of the month, is Technique Saturday!  The technique this month is Sheet Protector Background.  Photo tutorial below.

You have until Saturday, November 26th to link up your creation to get entered into the monthly drawing this week.

Here's what I came up with:

Scallops were cut from Art Philosophy Cartridge at 2", 2 1/4", 2 1/2", 2 3/4"
Bracket was cut at 3"

 Recipe:
Card Base: SU Island Indigo 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" (folded)
Card front:  Pool Party 4" X 5 1/4"
Other Cardstock / Paper:   Poppy Parade, White Glossy cut at 4" X 4 1/4"
Ink:  Island Indigo (very very close to Taken with Teal)
Stamps:  CTMH Frames, Tags, Borders
Accessories:  Cricut & Art Philosophy Cartridge, SU Poppy Parade ribbon, sheet protector, reinkers, rhinestones

Here's how you do the Sheet Protector Background Technique:

You will need:
A sheet protector cut on all but one side so it can be opened
White Glossy Paper
Reinkers

Open the Sheet protector and drop whatever colors you are using onto the inside.

Next close the sheet protector to blend the colors slightly.

Put TWO sheets of Glossy Cardstock with the glossy side on the outside.
So the glossy will be getting inked.

Now you can use your hand, like I did, to spread the colors onto the glossy cardstock or you can use a brayer.
Let your cardstock dry.
It will dry lighter.

This is what it looks like if you don't have Glossy cardstock.
Here I just used regular white cardstock from Office Depot.
I think it looks just as good!

Now it's your turn to give it a try!

You can see the HIMCR schedule of challenges and guidelines HERE!  Please be sure and follow the few easy guidelines so your creation will get entered into the monthly giveaway!!!

Just a few guidelines:
1.  The current weekly challenge linky will be up until Friday night at midnight MST.  Be sure and link your creation back to the actual post and not just your blog home page.
2.  When posting your creation on your blog or online gallery please link it back to this challenge.  This helps me to spread the word and the FUN!
3.  Please create something new for the current challenge and NOT use something you've made previously.  However, you can combine a HIMCR challenge with other challenges. It is always fun to complete more than one challenge at a time!
4.  The winner of the monthly giveaway will be posted the 8th of the following month!
5. Have FUN!!
6. Let me know if I forgot something!

Thanks so much for visiting me while I am
