Cupcakes for My Little Guy!

I can't believe I forgot to post these cute cupcakes I made for my kindergartner to take to school on his birthday!  I was very excited to get to do this.  In the previous areas we have lived you had to either buy everything premade (expensive) or it had to be a healthly treat (gross! JK!).  This was so much fun and I can't to make more things for my little darlings to take to school!

My cute little guy wanted a Teddy Bear since it is the Kindergarten's mascot!  He even got to bring him home for his birthday!

We made the toppers using Create a Critter Cartridge for the Teddy Bear and Cricut Alphabet (that is on my E2) for the stars.  I always jot down the sizes when I am making things but I can't find it.

26 kids and 3 teachers!  PHEW!  That was a lot of cupcakes!

Playing With Scraps!

I love Super Scraps Saturday week!  I got out my bins of scraps and even organized them a little bit!

Here's what I came up with:

The tag was previously cut.  I sell a library card and tag set on ebay and this tag didn't make the 'cut'.  So it got thrown into a scrap bin.  Can you find the oops?

The flower I made a LOOOONG time ago and it was in a Scrap bin too!  Here's how I did it:  Flower Tutorial

Recipe:
Card Base:  Ruby Red 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" (folded)
Card front:   Apricot Appeal 4" X 5 1/4", Unknown Scrap 3 3/4" X 5
Other Cardstock / Paper:  White, Ruby Red DP, Alway Artichoke
Ink:  Ruby Red, White
Stamps:  PTI Mat Stack 1 Collection, Mega Mixed Messages
Accessories:  Accucut & Tag die, PTI mat stack die, Cuttlebug & Swiss Dots embossing folder, Wal-Mart ribbon,

Design Team Delay

I'm so sorry but I had to go out of town unexpectedly.  My 16 year old son had a Arizona permit for 6 months making him eligible to get a drivers license right after moving here to California, but California regulations were going to make him take driving classes then wait another 6 months with professional training after that to get his licsense.  My husband will be deploying in November and my son goes to early morning seminary, 6AM, so I NEED him to drive.  Anyway, my husband told me he had Monday off so my son, the baby, and I headed back to Arizona.  There was no pressure on my son!  I told him if he didn't pass it would be a wasted trip and he would be in BIG trouble!  Off course, I wasn't completely serious, but still....

It was a terrible drive there.  We went through a haboob and a little rain.  We didn't see any stormy weather but as we got closer there was a storm that had just went through and roads were closed due to flash floods.  We drove through what seemed like a RIVER!!  It was very scary and dark, dark, dark!!  We made it, finally, and he passed!!  I'm still soooo tired from driving there and back in two days.

Long story short.....

I still haven't narrowed down the Design Team submissions.  I had planned on emailing those selected by the 11th but it looks like it will be the 14th.  Again, I'm so sorry for the delay.

HIMCR #61 - Color Challenge

Happy Saturday!!  Time to begin a new month of challenges!!

One of my favorite kind of challenges has always been color challenges.  I guess that's why it is the first week!  The color challenge this time is More Mustard, Cajun Craze, and Garden Green!  These are Stampin Up, but as always, you can use colors that are similar from a different company.  I thought these colors would be great to use this time of year.  I'm still excited that the weather is so Fall-like here!!

You have until Friday, September 7th to link up your creation to get entered into the monthly drawing this week.  When uploading to online galleries please use code HIMCR61.
