Gypsy Update!

I'm so uper de duper excited! Provo Craft, Cricut, has now updated the Cricut Craft Room and the Gypsy so that now you can link them together. This basically means that now all your digital cartridges you buy will be on your Gypsy (if I understand it correctly. I don't own any digital cartridges) and all your linked cartridges will be on Cricut Craft Room. This is BIG, no HUGE, news in the Cricut world. If you already have a registered Gypsy you probably already know this but I just had to share this with those of you who have thought about getting a Gypsy but havent The prices have been so low and now with this new update ............

Here's the letter:

Dear Cricut Gypsy™ owner,
Gypsy linking is here! We're happy to announce that you can now upload content from your Cricut Gypsy™ device to your account in the Cricut Craft Room® design software. Here's how:
Make sure you have the latest versions of Cricut Craft Room® and Cricut Sync.
Connect your Cricut Gypsy™ device to your computer and follow the prompts to update the firmware.
Open the latest version of Cricut Craft Room®, agree to the linking Terms and Conditions, and then sync and uplink your cartridges.
That's it! After you link your Cricut Gypsy™ device to your Cricut Craft Room® account, you will be able to access the cartridges on your device in Cricut Craft Room®—and vice-versa!
If you're not familiar with the Cricut Craft Room® design software, now's the time to link your Cricut Gypsy™ device and try it out! Just like your Cricut Gypsy™ device, Cricut Craft Room® lets you drag and drop your images onto the virtual cutting mat design away—size, slant, weld, rotate, flip, or stretch to make your perfect image.

We know that the wait for Gypsy linking has been long—we appreciate your patience and are confident that you will find it worth the wait!
So I've updated Cricut Sync (that's on my computer), then Cricut Craft Room (on my computer. It can be downloaded and is free), and I hadn't updated my Gypsy is a little while so I needed to do that. Then open Cricut Craft Room, click on options and select Link Gypsy! I'll let you know what I think!

  2. Had been waiting for this update of being able to use the Cricut CraftRoom and then save to computer and upload to Gypsy. Last night 4/26 Cricut.com had a sale and I used the $20 in my account that they gave you if you updated your Gypsy. Digitals were 30% off. I got a Teresa Collins exclusive and Zodiac Signs that are both exclusives to Cricut CraftRoom. Will play with them later today.

  3. Wow! I'm glad to find this out! I did not get a letter, so thanks for posting this. I love my gypsy, and don't use my cricut with out it. Not sure if I like CCR, cuz I haven't quite figured it out. I'm glad that my G cart's will now be on CCR. (just in case I figure CCR out)
