HIMCR #104 - Freestyle!

Happy Saturday!

Just a quick update: my little six year old's eye is doing much better. He can actually use his eye now but for two days he had to walk around like this:

He wanted the wash cloth not only to block out ALL the light but also to keep his eyelid from opening which hurt.
Like I said, he's doing much better and still carries the cloth but he will actually open his eye when it's not too bright.
He will be back to his playful joyful self in no time!

Now on to the challenge! This week is the fifth Saturday of the month so it's FREESTYLE! So anything goes!

You have until Friday, July 5th to link up your creation to get entered into the drawing this week. When uploading to online galleries please use code HIMCR104.

HIMCR #102 Winner!

DANG! I'm a day late again!  However, I do have a pretty good excuse.  Tuesday night my six year old poked his eye with a toy and yesterday morning it was still really bothering him.  AND this particular child is NOT a big complainer so I knew something was up.  So after spending a few hours at the pediatrician and a few hours at the Ophthalmologist found out that he scratched his eye.  Poor kid!  Yesterday was such an ordeal for him. And now I have to put antibiotic drops in his eye 4 times a day. Glad it's over, now we just have to get that eye to heal.   We have to go back in a week to make sure it's healed and there is no scar tissue!

On to the winner!

The winner of the HIMCR#102 challenge is ......

Kim J from Kim's simply cards

Congrats Kim!  Please use the 'Contact Me' button to send me the email address you want me to use to send your prize!

Thanks so much for all the great Die Cuts entries!  We always have such a good turn out for that one!  I like it too!

This week's challenge is Wedding themed!  Super fun!  Be sure and check it out!  HERE!

Wedding Day!

This week's challenge is Wedding Themed for all those June brides! I wasn't a June bride. I got married in March but I did get married in the Jordan River Temple which is what my image is. In our church we believe that a husband and wife can be married for time and all eternity in a temple.

Here's what I came up with, now I just need to find someone to give it to! :)

Sentiment Frame was cut at 1.5" from the Art Philosophy cartridge.
The Temple image I stamped then copied at enlarged size of 150%.

Recipe:
Card Base: White 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" (folded)
Card front: Black 4" X 5 1/4"
Other Cardstock / Paper: None
Ink: PTI True Black
Stamps: CTMH Frame it Up Flair which coordinates with the Art Philosophy cartridge, PTI Year of the Flowers: Rose (coincidently June's stamp set!), Jordan River Stamp
Accessories: Cricut & Art Philosophy cartridge, Cuttlebug & Textile embossing folder, Pearls, Iridescent Medium

Thanks so much for visiting me while I am

Story time!

This week is Super Scraps here on Hiding in My Craft Room! So the challenge is to get out your scraps and make something with them! Who doesn't love to use up some of your stash? For all the challenge details go HERE!

I had a great opportunity to use some stash last week and conveniently for me I haven't shared it yet! :)

My son asked me the night before a school project was due. Has that ever happened to you? Because with six kids still at home it happens to me a lot!
Fortunately for him and me we had tons of scraps and precuts or we would have been up LATE, LATE!
The letters were cut from Cricut Alphabet.

The doghouse was cut from Animal Kingdom at 3.5".
The dog is a Sizzix die cut.

The tree is from a Sizzix die.

The Squirrel is from Animal Kingdom Cricut Cartridge at 1.5" and 3".

These are Sizzix dolls and clothes.
I have Paperdolls cartridges but sometimes it's easier and quicker to just cut them out the old fashioned way
Plus, my daughter used to sell Dolls and clothes sets and we had most of them left over from that!
The rest were cut from scraps!
For the faces I used Peachy Keen stamps and these are a must have!
