I love Ribbon but I hate paperwork!

I have been meaning to post this every day this week but something has always come up and really I need to be probably doing something else like my 8 year old needs a haircut, we have a few things we couldn't find on the school supply lists that we should get tonight plus some new things we didn't know about yet, I have a son who is going to need help getting his stuff together before he leaves or else I'm going to be getting the stuff he leaves behind together by myself! It's almost time to cook dinner! Today, I didn't do my one load of laundry I try to do everyday. Thank goodness the kids don't have homework yet but of course I'm sure there's some more paperwork for me to fill out! Is it just me or do you find it annoying that we have soooo much back to school paper work to fill out EVERY SINGLE YEAR! Why in the world can't it be like the doctor's office where we only have to fill out new forms if any of the information has changed! Birthday - same! Address - same! Emergency contacts - same! Names - hello, the same! Parents names, numbers, etc - same, same, same! Okay, maybe it's the fact that I hate paperwork and I find it repetitive and busy work which is something else I don't like or have time for! None of this has ANYTHING to do with the card I'm posting I'm just venting! :) Oh, except all this busy work, paperwork, and shopping makes me a little mad (crazy mad!). heehee!

The challenge this week is:

  3. Like the cute image on your card with the ribbons. At the schools my daughter attended, first grade thru 3rd grade public you only had to fill out a form if anything changed and same was true for 4th thru 8th grade private and 9th thru 12th private high school. With t4echnology these days you would think they would have the form online & you could have the info that was there yr to yr and only update what if any had changed to make it easier.

  4. LOVE your card. Thanks for sharing.
I am a teacher and our office copies off the pre-printed paperwork for each kiddo. Our parents double check it for accuracy sign it and send it back. Our main concern is making sure the emergency info we have is up to date. One of the things we require is emergency pick up info. If we were to have an earthquake or other emergency it is extremely important that we have accurate info. We do not allow our students to go with anyone who is not on their list.
Another reason is requirement to have parental permission for things like internet access. A lot of those permissions need to be updated each year.
Updated medical info is also important.
You would be surprised how much of this info changes for some students without their records being updated.
People get busy, things change and we don't always remember all the places those changes need to be updated. If we send the paperwork home each year we are more likely to have the correct info we need when we need it.
Hope this helps. Just think of it as our way of making sure all the info we need for your kiddo is as current as possible.
    Crafty hugs.

  5. Love your card, Laurie. The ribbons go beautifully with your image :-)
I too, thought the same way you do! Every year, the same thing ... pages and pages of paperwork. The last few years of high school, it was all done online and the basic information was already pre filled in so that helped. I guess, it is important for the school system to have updated information, but it really is tedious work. A friend of mine got her child to do it since he was a freshman in high school. Maybe that's something to think about? :-)
